• Improve Language Scores (Biggest ROI): Moving from CLB 8 to CLB 10 in all 4 abilities adds up to 44 points (no spouse). Retaking IELTS or CELPIP after intensive preparation is often the single most effective way to boost CRS. Target CLB 10 across all abilities.
• Gain Canadian Work Experience: Moving from 0 to 1 year of Canadian work experience adds up to 40 points (TEER 0-2 jobs). Moving from 1 to 2+ years adds up to 20 more. Get into Canada on a work permit and apply for Express Entry while working here.
• Get a Provincial Nomination (PN): A valid provincial nomination certificate adds an automatic 600 CRS points — virtually guaranteeing an ITA in the next draw. Research all 13 provincial/territorial programs for streams that align with your occupation.
