Skilled Worker Visa
Employer-sponsored visa for skilled professionals. £41,700 general salary threshold (or SOC 2020 going rate if higher). Skill level raised to RQF Level 6 from 22 July 2025. English at B2. Leads to ILR after 5 years.
Health & Care Worker Visa
Subcategory of Skilled Worker for NHS and adult social care workers. Benefits: 100% exempt from NHS IHS surcharge (saving £1,035/yr per person), lower application fees, and lower salary thresholds tied to NHS Agenda for Change pay scales.
Global Talent Visa
For recognised leaders and exceptional talent in: Digital Technology (Tech Nation endorsement, renewed May 2025), Arts & Culture (Arts Council England), Science/Research (Royal Society, Royal Academy of Engineering, British Academy, UKRI). Stage 1: endorsement; Stage 2: visa application. Settlement after 3–5 years.
Graduate Visa
Available to international students who completed a UK degree at a licensed Student sponsor. Gives 2 years (3 years for PhD graduates) of unsponsored right to work in any job. Cannot be extended — must switch to another route (e.g., Skilled Worker) to remain longer-term.
Scale-Up Visa
For workers joining eligible high-growth UK companies. Initial 6 months requires a sponsor; after 6 months the visa holder can work for any employer or be self-employed with no sponsor. 5-year route to ILR.
Innovator Founder Visa
For entrepreneurial individuals establishing an innovative business in the UK. Requires endorsement from an approved UK endorsing body. Must demonstrate genuine, innovative, viable, and scalable business idea. Settlement (ILR) possible after 3 years.
