Professional skilled-worker route
The current federal professional category is broader than engineers alone. It applies to skilled workers at the first or second professional level according to the MOHRE classification and requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, monthly salary of at least AED 30,000, a professional licence where the profession requires one, and comprehensive health insurance.

Society of Engineers (SOE) membership
The Society of Engineers has its own professional-membership requirements. Its published registration guide requires, among other documents, a bachelor’s degree or equivalent and UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs attestation for the original certificate. That membership system is distinct from the federal Golden Residency criteria.

Degree authentication and recognition
A bachelor’s degree or equivalent is a requirement of the professional skilled-worker category, but the exact document authentication and recognition path depends on the qualification and issuing country. It is therefore safer to direct applicants to the current competent-authority requirements rather than state one fixed attestation sequence for every engineering degree.

Golden Residency is issued without the ordinary UAE sponsor requirement, while professional licensing remains separate.
