UAE Golden Visa for Top University Graduates
A current guide to the 10-year Golden Residence route for qualifying graduates of international top-100 universities, including the GPA threshold, two-year graduation window, university classification, certificate recognition and government approval.
Important: A GPA of 3.5 plus a top-100 university is a published eligibility test, not an automatic visa approval. The competent UAE authority must still approve or nominate the application.

Key requirements explained
Top-100 university
For the international-university route, the university must rank within the world’s top 100 according to the international classification approved by the Ministry of Education.
Bachelor GPA ≥ 3.5
The current GDRFA international-graduate service specifies a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 for bachelor graduates.
Graduation within 2 years
No more than two years may have passed since graduation.
Certificate recognition
The degree must meet the applicable UAE authentication/approval and accredited-university requirements.
Government approval
Golden Residency applications require approval through the UAEICP system or nomination by the competent local authority, as applicable.

- Valid passport.

- Personal photograph and any required application/approval documentation.
Recognition is separate from ranking
There are two separate questions: whether the university satisfies the Top 100 ranking requirement and whether the actual degree certificate satisfies the UAE authentication/ recognition requirements. One does not automatically prove the other.

These are ICP service-card figures for the specified graduate service and should not be treated as the complete cost of every Golden Residence issuance scenario, because additional residence/ medical/Emirates ID or local-channel charges may apply.
Family sponsorship: avoid overpromising
Golden Residency generally provides family-residency benefits, but the academic category has its own conditions. Current ICP describes spouse and children as family beneficiaries of Golden Residency, while GDRFA's current top-student/top-graduate service states that university students may sponsor family members subject to employment, steady-income and housing conditions.
Renewal status of the academic graduate route
The general ICP Golden Residency programme page describes Golden Residency as automatically renewable in broad terms. However, the specific GDRFA top-student/top-graduate servicecurrently states that this permit is non-extendable if the same conditions are met, while the governing 2022 regulation describes the top-student/top-graduate Golden Residence as one-time and non-renewable.
