Singapore passport applications cost S$70 when submitted online and S$80 when submitted over the counter at the ICA Services Centre or a Singapore Overseas Mission. Singapore passports issued to citizens aged 16 and above are valid for 10 years, while passports issued to citizens below 16 are valid for 5 years. ICA states that local passport processing takes around one to two weeks from receipt of the application, although it can take longer where the photograph does not meet requirements or the application involves changes to the principal name or surname. After approval, applicants are notified by email or SMS and must make an appointment to collect the passport within one month. Collection may be available at a designated SingPost post office or the ICA Services Centre, depending on the applicant's eligibility and the collection options offered in the notification. From 1 October 2021, Singapore residents do not pay an additional SingPost collection fee when collecting passports at designated post offices. Submit the Passport Application

For Singapore Citizens residing in Singapore, apply through ICA's online passport e-Service using Singpass or use the applicable over-counter process. The current online fee is S$70 and the over-counter fee is S$80.

Pay the Applicable Application Fee

For online applications, use one of the payment methods currently accepted by ICA, such as eligible cards, internet direct debit through participating banks or PayNow.

Wait for ICA's Processing Outcome

Local processing takes around one to two weeks from ICA's receipt of the application. Processing can take longer where the photograph is unacceptable or specified name changes are involved.

Receive the Approval and Collection Notification

ICA notifies successful applicants by SMS or email once the passport is ready for collection.

Make the Collection Appointment

Arrange the collection appointment within one month of approval using ICA's current appointment process.

Prepare the Collection Documents

For adults, bring the current passport if any and digital or physical IC. For children, bring the child's birth certificate and current passport if any together with the consenting parent's identification document, subject to ICA's current collection instructions.

Collect the Passport

Collect at the designated SingPost post office, ICA Services Centre or other venue stated by ICA. Do not assume that an iCollect kiosk is available for every application.
