3. Historical CRS Cutoffs and NOI Selection: How the Old Tech Draw Worked
Under the former OINP Express Entry Human Capital Priorities Tech Draw model, Ontario searched the federal Express Entry pool and issued Notifications of Interest to candidates who could potentially satisfy the HCP requirements and had experience in one of the targeted technology NOCs. IRCC states that 600 is the maximum additional CRS amount available for a nomination and that it is awarded after the candidate accepts the nomination in Express Entry. The provincial nomination is not the same as the federal permanent-residence approval. The candidate must continue to qualify for the relevant Express Entry program, maintain truthful profile information and satisfy federal admissibility requirements.
