5. Technology Job Offer, Employer and Eligibility Requirements in 2026

A technology worker must first qualify for the underlying Skills Immigration stream. For the current Skilled Worker Stream, the candidate generally needs a full-time B.C. job offer in an eligible TEER 0, 1, 2 or 3 occupation, the required skilled work experience, qualifying education, language ability and an eligible employer. The normal job offer must be indeterminate, but the current program guide contains a limited-term job-offer appendix. Technology occupations listed there can use an offer of at least one year, provided there are at least 120 calendar days remaining at the time of application and all other requirements are satisfied.

The work permit itself is issued federally by IRCC.
