UAE Golden Visa for Outstanding Students & Graduates
A current route-by-route guide for outstanding high-school students, graduates of Class A and Class B UAE universities, and graduates of qualifying top-100 foreign universities.
Important: The GPA and residence duration depend on the exact student category. Do not use one universal 3.5 GPA or 10-year rule for every applicant.
Current student and graduate Golden Residency routes
| Applicant | Core academic rule | Residence |

| Outstanding high-school student | ≥ 95% high-school average/equivalent + recommendation + ASI + Ministry certificate approval. | 5 years |

Outstanding high-school students
The current high-school route is a separate student category. The federal rules require a high-school average of at least 95% or its equivalent, the applicable educational-authority recommendation, compliance with the approved Academic Strength Index and Ministry certificate approval.
| Requirement | Current position |
|---|---|
| Academic result | ≥ 95% high-school average/equivalent. |
| Recommendation | Ministry of Education and competent local educational authority recommendation. |
| ASI | Approved Academic Strength Index standard. |
| Certificate | Ministry of Education approval. |
| Residence | 5 years. |
Graduates of UAE universities
UAE university graduates are divided into Class A and Class B institutions. This is the most important correction to the original page: the GPA threshold is not universally 3.5.
| University classification | Degree | Minimum GPA | Timing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Class A | Bachelor, Master or Doctorate | 3.5 | ≤ 2 years since graduation |
| Class B | Bachelor, Master or Doctorate | 3.8 | ≤ 2 years since graduation |
Graduates of international universities
The foreign-university route is distinct from the Class A/B UAE university route. The university must be within the top 100 worldwide according to the international classification approved by the Ministry of Education. The current published condition for bachelor graduates is a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 and no more than two years since graduation.
| Requirement | Current position |
|---|---|
| University ranking | Top 100 worldwide under the Ministry-approved international classification. |
| Degree | Qualifying bachelor graduate. |
| GPA | ≥ 3.5. |
| Graduation age | No more than 2 years since graduation. |
| Certificate | Ministry of Education approval/authentication as applicable. |
The two-year graduation window
For university graduates, the current federal regulation and current GDRFA service require that no more than two yearshave passed since graduation. This condition applies to both the Class A/B UAE university route and the qualifying foreign-university route.
Family sponsorship differs by student category
| Category | Current Dubai GDRFA guidance |
|---|---|
| High-achieving high-school student | May sponsor parents; siblings are excluded. |
| University student / graduate | May sponsor spouse and children subject to applicable family sponsorship conditions, including proof of income/employment and accommodation where required. |
| General Golden Residency | Family benefits exist, but the precise dependent rules should be checked against the applicant's category and issuing authority. |
The original page's single “parents + spouse + children” formula has therefore been removed.
Certificate approval and recommendation
Academic recognition is not one universal procedure for every graduate. The current official services distinguish between the academic certificate approval/attestation requirement and the recommendation or graduation evidence needed for the Golden Residency application.
| Applicant | Current evidence |
|---|---|
| UAE university graduate | University recommendation or qualifying graduation certificate, plus the required Ministry-approved/attested academic certificate. |
| Foreign university graduate | Ministry-approved/authenticated foreign qualification plus top- 100 ranking, GPA and two-year timing requirements. |
| High-school student | Ministry/competent educational-authority recommendation, qualifying result/ASI and Ministry certificate approval. |
