Important: There is no universal “Media Golden Visa” formula where one endorsement automatically makes every creator, journalist or influencer eligible.
Current media and creative Golden Residency framework
The federal Golden Residency framework places qualifying creative professionals within the exceptional-talent Culture and Arts category. Current ICP lists creative professionals in culture and the arts as a 10-year exceptional-talent route. The Ministry of Culture's current service explicitly includes video games, photography, digital arts, film and television among its creative fields.

Culture & Arts creative route
Cabinet Resolution No. 65 of 2022 allows a Golden Residence for talented people of culture and art based on recommendation from the Ministry of Culture or competent local authorities. The federal framework separates applicants into Pioneer, Prominent and Distinguished Professional levels.

UAE Media Council Golden Visa evidence form
The current UAE Media Council publishes a specific Golden Visa form for creative people of culture and art. It asks for a personal photograph, passport, CV/portfolio and Emirates ID where available, followed by evidence for at least three listed achievement areas.

Creative fields currently recognised by the Ministry of Culture
The Ministry of Culture's current Golden Visa recommendation service lists several creative areas, including video games, photography, digital arts, graphic design, product design, architecture, film and television, together with literature, music, performing arts and cultural heritage.

Advertiser Permit is separate from Golden Residency
The UAE Media Council launched the Advertiser Permitin 2025 to regulate individuals who publish promotional content on social media, whether paid or unpaid. The Council states that the permit is part of the advertising-content regulatory framework and must be distinguished from immigration status or Golden Residency.

Followers are not the legal threshold
The current official Golden Visa forms do not publish a universal “10,000 / 100,000 / 1 million followers” test. For creatives, the published evidence focuses on recognition, awards/nominations, prestigious organisations, attention from critics/media/industry professionals and participation in prestigious forums or events.

10-year creative route
The exceptional-talent Culture and Arts route is a 10-year Golden Residency category.
Family residence
Current ICP guidance provides residence permits for spouse and children.
Extended absence
Golden Residents are exempt from the ordinary six-month absence restriction while the Golden Residence remains valid.
Practical application workflow
Identify the actual category
Creative professional, filmmaker, journalist or another media occupation.
Build the portfolio
CV, portfolio, published/distributed work, awards and documented recognition.
Obtain recommendation
Apply through the relevant Ministry of Culture, UAE Media Council or competent local recommendation channel.
Complete residence
Submit the Golden Residency application through the applicable ICP/GDRFA channel and complete residence procedures.
