What the official ILOE calculator actually checks
The official ILOE calculator does not determine a payout from one current salary figure alone. It asks for the basic salary for each of the six months before the employment loss and also checks the reason for unemployment, the 12-month subscription condition, UAE presence/visa status, ownership or partnership status and the certificate category.
The revised calculator below follows that basic structure and intentionally labels its output as an estimate rather than an entitlement decision.

The official ILOE source currently states that policy periods are available for one or two years and that VAT is added to the premium according to the applicable payment arrangement.
Compensation limits that matter
- 60% calculation: benefit is based on the average basic salary for the six months before employment loss.
- Per-claim duration: maximum three consecutive months.
- Monthly cap: AED 10,000 for Category A and AED 20,000 for Category B.
- Lifetime aggregate: total claims cannot exceed the equivalent of 12 monthly benefits over the insured person’s service period in the UAE.
- Qualifying period: at least 12 consecutive months of subscription.
ILOE non-subscription and payment penalties
Official implementation materials state an AED 400 fine for an eligible worker who fails to subscribe within the required period.
Official scheme materials also state a further AED 200 penalty where premiums are not paid for more than three months, alongside cancellation/re-subscription consequences under the policy. Always check the current ILOE account record for the actual outstanding amount before paying.
