Culinary Arts is recognised — but not as a standalone visa category
Dubai Culture's published cultural-visa material specifically lists Culinary Arts within its cultural/design fields. This means distinguished culinary professionals can potentially use the cultural-talent pathway. The underlying UAE federal legislation, however, is the broader Culture and Arts Golden Residence category.

Federal Culture & Arts talent criteria
Cabinet Resolution No. 65 of 2022 establishes three cultural-talent levels. A culinary professional's evidence must be assessed against the relevant level rather than against a restaurant award alone.

Hospitality executives are a separate case
A luxury hotel General Manager, hospitality VP or similar executive is not automatically a Culture and Arts applicant merely because the person's company operates in gastronomy or tourism. Current ICP Executive Director guidance should be evaluated where the person's position and employment satisfy that route.

Restaurant and culinary founders
A founder who owns a restaurant group, culinary technology company or hospitality startup may potentially use the separate Entrepreneur Golden Residency route when the project satisfies the applicable innovation, project-value/revenue and competent-authority or incubator requirements.
Dubai Culture accreditation process
Dubai Culture's published Creative and Talented Accreditation Service is a key local pathway for cultural creatives. Its service directory says the service grants a Creative and Talented Accreditation Certificate for issuance of a long-term cultural visa, accepts a cultural CV and passport, is available online 24/7 and is free of charge. After accreditation, the published process refers the applicant to GDRFA for the long-term residence issuance.

Michelin and Gault&Millau: useful evidence, not the legal test
Dubai's gastronomy ecosystem officially recognises Michelin-starred and other acclaimed restaurants, and DET's current gastronomy work shows the importance of culinary excellence to Dubai's tourism and economic strategy. Those achievements can strengthen an applicant's evidence, but the Golden Residency decision is still made under the applicable immigration category and authority process.

Long-term residence
The Culture and Arts Golden Residency is a 10-year category when the cultural-talent criteria are satisfied.
Family benefits
Eligible Golden Residents receive the general family-residence benefits under the Golden Residency framework.
Extended absence
Golden Residents are exempt from the ordinary six-month absence restriction while the Golden Residence remains valid.
