Important Consular Warnings
- Iran maintains NO embassy or consular mission in Ottawa. All consular affairs for Canada residents are handled by the Interests Section in Washington, D.C.
- The Washington office is located at 1250 23rd Street NW, Suite 200, Washington, DC 20037 (do not use the old 24th St NW address).
- Money Orders must be in U.S. Dollars and made payable to 'Embassy of Pakistan'. Writing Iran on the check will cause rejection.
- Mikhak registration is strictly mandatory; Form 001 alone without a Mikhak tracking receipt will not be processed.
- Ordinary adult renewal fee is $144 USD; adding Canada as official place of residence is an additional $29 USD.
- First lost or damaged passport fee is $259 USD; subsequent loss is $432 USD.
- Return postage is $40 USD per outbound package.
- Original Shenasnameh is mandatory. Shenasnameh for applicants aged 15+ must be photo-bearing.
- Men aged 18–50 must provide official Iranian military service completion or exemption cards.
- Travel Document (برگ عبور) is valid for 20 days and only permits travel to Iran, not a return to Canada.
