What the DIFC Innovation Licence actually offers
Subsidised commercial licence
Current DIFC material advertises the Innovation Licence at USD 1,500 per year, with separate registration and coworking components.
Coworking access
Current promotional offers provide access to subsidised coworking space; the published monthly price depends on the offer page and package available when applying.
Discounted visa costs
DIFC states that up to four visas can be available on the first desk, with discounted visa costs. The visa quota is not the same as four free visas.

DIFC legal framework and courts
DIFC is a common-law financial free zone with its own laws and an English-language court system. DIFC Courts have jurisdiction over cases falling within their statutory jurisdiction and can also hear civil or commercial disputes where the parties validly select DIFC Courts as their forum.
Common-law environment
DIFC legislation and its courts operate within a common-law-based legal environment and use English prominently in commercial proceedings.
Separate jurisdiction
Holding a DIFC licence does not automatically place every dispute before DIFC Courts. The statutory jurisdiction and any valid contractual jurisdiction clause must be considered.
Startup ecosystem and fundraising
DIFC's Innovation ecosystem includes accelerator programmes, technology communities, networking and support around product development and fundraising. These are commercial ecosystem advantages rather than guaranteed investment.
Funding is not guaranteed
A DIFC Innovation Licence can place a startup within the DIFC ecosystem and give access to networks and support, but it does not guarantee VC investment, accelerator admission, revenue or customer acquisition.
UAE Corporate Tax: do not treat the licence as an automatic 0% tax certificate
The Innovation Licence is a DIFC commercial licence, not a blanket UAE tax exemption. UAE Corporate Tax treatment depends on whether the company qualifies for the relevant Free Zone Person regime, the nature of its income, its activities and the federal Corporate Tax rules.
