2026 DMCC community

More than 26,000 companies

DMCC announced in June 2026 that its business community had grown beyond 26,000 companies.

The old “24,000+ companies” wording was based on earlier DMCC reporting and is no longer the best current figure for a page labelled 2026.

Corporate Tax for DMCC companies

DMCC/free-zone status does not automatically make all company income subject to a 0% tax rate.

Under the UAE Corporate Tax framework, a Free Zone Person that qualifies as a Qualifying Free Zone Person can receive a 0% rate on Qualifying Income. Taxable Income that is not Qualifying Income can be taxed at 9%.

The qualifying and excluded-activity framework was updated by Ministerial Decision No. 229 of 2025. Consequently, a DMCC company must review its activities, income streams and compliance position before claiming a 0% Corporate Tax result.

Corporate bank account considerations

DMCC incorporation can support an application for a UAE corporate bank account, but there is no guaranteed bank approval. Banks conduct their own onboarding and risk assessment.

Common information requested

  • Certificate of incorporation/licence
  • Shareholder and beneficial-owner information
  • Business model and expected transaction profile
  • Source-of-funds information
  • Contracts/invoices where relevant

What is not guaranteed

A DMCC licence does not guarantee approval by Wio, Emirates NBD or any other UAE bank. Bank selection, industry, nationality, ownership structure, source of funds and projected transactions can affect the outcome.

Frequently Asked Questions

DMCC does not have one universal setup price for every company. Under the current standard pricing, DMCC lists an application fee of AED 1,035, registration of AED 9,020, Articles of Association of AED 2,020, an annual licence of AED 20,285 and an annual establishment card of AED 1,825. Office or business-centre costs, visas, deposits and other services are additional. DMCC also publishes discounted setup packages whose price depends on the package, duration and offer terms.

A standard DMCC Flexi-Desk can support up to three visas. A serviced office can generally support four or five visas depending on its size, while physical office space is generally calculated at one visa for every nine square metres. A company can apply for an increase in visa quota in circumstances permitted by DMCC.

The current DMCC Schedule of Charges lists a standard two-year employment residence visa for a new employee applying from outside the UAE at AED 2,972.50 per request. Visa charges differ depending on whether the application is inside or outside the UAE, the visa duration, the number of visas and whether priority service is used. Therefore AED 4,500 should not be used as a universal DMCC visa price.

DMCC permits 100% business ownership for its free-zone companies, subject to the applicable company and licensing rules. The UAE also does not impose a general personal income tax on individuals. These points are separate from corporate tax: a DMCC company can still be subject to UAE Corporate Tax depending on its status, income and applicable Free Zone rules.

Not automatically. A Free Zone Person that qualifies as a Qualifying Free Zone Person can benefit from a 0% Corporate Tax rate on Qualifying Income, while Taxable Income that is not Qualifying Income can be subject to 9%. The qualifying and excluded-activity rules were updated by Ministerial Decision No. 229 of 2025, so the company’s actual activities and income must be analysed before claiming a 0% rate.

A DMCC company can apply for a UAE corporate bank account, but incorporation does not guarantee bank-account approval. Banks perform their own KYC, AML, beneficial-owner, business-model, source-of-funds and transaction-volume assessment and may request business contracts, invoices, proof of address and other documents. The bank chosen and the company’s risk profile can materially affect the process.
